Overview
The information below explains the limitations and definitions of our installation service.
Asterix (*) definitions
- Removal and disposal of old appliance - Fridges & Freezers - this costs £20 per unit due to recycling laws regarding refrigeration. More on this subject can be found on our appliance recycling page.
- Removal and disposal of old appliance - Gas Cookers, Gas Hobs, Range Cookers, Integrated Ovens - if you want us to remove your old gas appliance it must be fully disconnected from the mains gas supply.
- Connection to gas supply - Gas Cookers, Gas Hobs, Range Cookers, Integrated Ovens - our delivery crews cannot install gas appliances, a separate Gas Safe engineer will call to perform this task after delivery has taken place.
- Testing appliance for leaks - Gas Cookers, Gas Hobs, Range Cookers, Integrated Ovens - our delivery crews cannot test gas appliances for leaks, a separate Gas Safe engineer will call to perform this task after delivery has taken place.
- Gas installation costs are based on a standard job. If there any complications or irregularities with the connection process, installation cost may rise.
- Connection to electricity supply - Gas Cookers, Gas Hobs, Range Cookers, Integrated Ovens - many gas cookers use mains ignition systems - a separate Gas Safe engineer will call to connect the cooker to the electricity supply after delivery has taken place.
- Testing appliance is working - Gas Cookers - a separate Gas Safe engineer will call to perform this task after delivery has taken place.
- Testing appliance is working - Fridges, Freezers & Fridge-Freezers - we will test that the appliance begins to get cold, we advise that normalization of cabinet temperatures (+5°C fridge | -18°C freezers) to legal levels can take hours, please advise us of the temperatures after we deliver if they are not cold enough.
- Adjustment of kitchen units - this could be necessary if we are replacing an old appliance which was built to imperial measurements as all new appliances are now constructed using the metric system. If adjustment of kitchen units is required, this will be at an extra cost.
- Reversal of doors - this pertains to refrigeration only and must be arranged with us before delivery. It may cost extra to reverse doors as this is not a standard procedure. If you think you may need the door/s on your refrigeration item reversing let us know and we'll tell you which way the doors are hinged.
- Connection to water supply - fridge freezers - some fridge freezers require a plumbed water supply for drinks dispensers and ice makers, we can install this if need be and then check for leaks. If you want your fridge freezer plumbed in to the mains water supply, please let us know before we deliver.
- Connection of hose to external vent – if applicable - Cooker Hoods - our installers can connect your cooker hood to an existing external vent if agreed before delivery.
- Alteration of hob cavity – wooden worktops only - this pertains to hobs only - our installation crews can only cut worktops made from wood, this includes solid wood, LDF (low density fibreboard), MDF (medium density fibreboard) or HDF (high density fibreboard).
Standard Installation
Standard installation is based upon the replacement of a similar product to existing fittings. For instance, you have a faulty washing machine, we take it away and install a new one in its place with the same or similar dimensions. The cost of standard installation is indicated on all appliance specific pages. Our delivery crew will let you know if your installation is non-standard and if there are any additional charges involved.
Access
Please make sure you measure access locations for delivery of your appliance. This is essential. Please pay special attention if buying large appliances such as large chest freezers, American style - side by side fridge freezers or range cookers as they may not fit! We will not be held responsible for an appliance which is too large to be successfully delivered and placed in the location you specify.

All our employees are covered by a fully comprehensive public insurance policy.
